HKAEL Commitment

HKAEL recognizes the European legislation on environmental issues.
After the establishment of two new directives on January 27, 2003, known as WEEE (Waste from Electrical & Electronic Equipment) & RoHS (Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances), many of our customers in the various businesses are affected.
In order to assist you in understanding the implications of WEEE and RoHS, HKAEL will provide you with up-to-date information on this website.

HKAEL has been conducting exhaustive testing of it products to ensure that all materials are compliant with RoHS. This includes tracing any materials used through the supply chain and validating that they are all compliant with the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC. HKAEL commits to be compliant with this directive by July 1st 2006, or earlier.

HKAEL is working together with the local organizations to set up a recycling process for our products supplied into the EU at the end of live in order to comply with the WEEE directive 2002/96/EC by August 13th, 2005. We will inform you on a regular basis on the status of this process in every EU member state.

RoHS compatibility means:

Based on the results of testing using recognised analytical methods performed by a third party, independent laboratory, or based on statements we received from our suppliers the materials are RoHS compliant to the EU Commission Directive 2002/95/(RoHS) for Cadmium (<100 ppm), Lead (<1000 ppm), Chrome6+(<1000 ppm), Mercury (<1000 ppm), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs < 1000 ppm), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE's <1000 ppm).

HKAEL is following the evolutions in every member state in Europe about the initiatives to setup collection schemes. As soon as we have made agreements with the local collection schemes we will announce this on our website.
